Churchill Museum adds Early Allies interactive

The Churchill Museum and Cabinet War Rooms, a previous winner of an AV Award in 2005, has added the Early Allies interactive display to its offerings. It has a custom-built exhibit which informs visitors about Churchill’s early World War II allies.
The Early Allies interactive, designed by Martello Media features a touch-sensitive, high-resolution, historically accurate map, based on a 1940s example. It consists of a 2m long back-lit display. The map communicates with three portrait-oriented screens above it which show each country’s content.
Peter Whittaker from Martello Media said, ‘The Early Allies interactive unit was designed to be an attractive, engaging, multi-user experience. It allows up to three people to simultaneously explore Churchill’s early WWII allies; the user can bring up background information on each country, in addition to famous quotes by or on Churchill himself.’
Exhibitions manager at the Churchill Museum and Cabinet War Rooms, Cressida Finch said, ‘It was a great project to work on. We are very pleased with the results and the way the interactive highlights the importance of the allies and the Commonwealth Countries in the first years of the Second World War.’
