Cheshire’s Media 1 Productions has unveiled its WebEx based international online meeting service at a launch event in Copenhagen. The event, which saw the company organise a meeting for delegates from a major pharmaceutical company at the Hilton Hotel in Copenhagen Airport, also incorporated WebEx audio and video interaction with delegates and presenters in Australia and the USA.
WebEx is a web conferencing platform from Cisco which enables colleagues, partners, customers and suppliers to collaborate via the web, saving time, reducing costs and increasing productivity.
Media 1’s service is designed to enable businesses that require international conferences and meetings to reduce their carbon footprint and travel costs, while continuing to benefit from the in-depth interaction these live events ensure.
Media 1 organised the entire Copenhagen event, including interactive presentations, all a-v requirements, and the design and management of the WebEx communication with Australia and the USA. The system enabled the US delegate to operate his presentation directly, while Media 1 added a telephone interface for additional support.
Steve Bindley of Media 1 Productions, says: ‘Over the last 12 – 18 months we’ve seen a growing number of businesses looking at ways to reduce the travel costs and environmental impact associated with international events. However, the majority of these conferences and events are integral to their operations, so they need ways to maintain their impact while meeting the cost-saving business requirements.’
‘We have to consider time zones when organising everything – for example in Copenhagen the US presenter joined us at lunchtime, which was 0500 in Omaha – but the cost savings and easy integration of communication make this service increasingly attractive.’
