Malm Opera in southern Sweden has become the world’s first opera house to make the transition from analogue to digital sound with Sony Professional’s DWR-R01D two-channel rack mount wireless receiver and the DWT-B01 wireless microphone transmitter.
The system is monitored and managed with Sony’s monitoring and control software.
A driving factor behind this technological development is the new EU directive for awarding sound frequencies to theatres and concert halls. Sweden is the first country in Europe to implement the new frequencies, and the objective is to complete the implementation by 31. December 2010.
