PSCo opens new Reading assessment centre

PSCo Technical Distribution has opened its new assessment centre, a refitted and refurbished technical resource in Reading, Berkshire, allowing channel partners and their customers to see and test videowall and large-format display products side by side.

The new Assessment Centre is part of the company’s investment across all its operations, including the development of the Birmingham office which houses its own demonstration facility for partners and customers in the region.
Nico Kamffer, client services director, PSCo Technical Distribution said: “We are a visual business, and believe that customers have a right to road test the products they will be using and see the finished effect before they sign off a purchase.”
PSCo Technical Distribution’s assessment centre will showcase its portfolio of videowall and large-format displays, control and content technologies.
These include 29 tiles of Eyevis omniSHAPES 24in LED DLP rear projection videowall display, omniSHAPES is being driven by a Matrox Mura multi-display graphics card in a pre-specified PC chassis creating a 3 x HD image.
A 3×3 Orion OPM-4260 42in bezel-less plasma videowall display, mounted on Orion mainframe brackets, is also on show alongside a 2×2 Samsung UE46A 46inch edge-lit LED LCD videowall display, a 3×3 NEC X463UN 46in direct-lit LED LCD videowall display, a 2×2 NEC X551UN 55in direct-lit LED LCD videowall display and a 3×1 Sharp PN-V602 60in direct-lit CED LCD videowall display.
Content on the Sharp display is being created and managed by Harris InfoCaster.
The Samsung, NEC and Sharp displays are all mounted on a SMS multi-display wall pro bracket
In addition to the latest video walls, the Assessment Centre houses a selection of products from PSCo’s best-in-class large-format display portfolio.
From Panasonic: the 152in 3D, 103in 3D, 103in, 85in 3D and 85in plasmas, as well as the 70in and new 80in LCD LED backlit displays.
From NEC: the 82in and 70in LCD LED backlit displays.
From Sharp: the 70in and 80in LCD LED backlit displays.
From Samsung: the 75in LCD LED edgelit display, the first of its kind on the market.
In addition to viewing and testing all the above products, partners can also use the Assessment Centre for bespoke training sessions.
