One of the largest ceiling-suspended videowalls has been commissioned in Ahaus, Nord Rhein Westfalia, Germany. The videowall hangs at one end of a 1,200 sq m hall built for public events with an audience capacity of 2,000.
Designed by Unicol, the giant video wall consists of 56 Samsung UD55A Large Format Displays (LFD) in an 8 x 7 landscape configuration.
The hall ceiling beam had to be reinforced and the Unicol Adapta-wall system supporting the screens was hung on 28 Unicol, nine metres long chrome columns.
Software company Tobit GmbH supplied technology to make the most of such a large format array, and the project was planned and managed by Adversign Media GmbH, a digital signage provider based in Dusseldorf.
