Riot-proof brackets

Youths trying to nick a telly from Ladbrokes’ Lavender Hill shop took on more then they’d bargained for the other night.

Sky News images of a gang frustrated by not being able to remove a display from the Nation’s favourite bookies were picked up by YouTube.

The brackets have even inspired their own Facebook page.

Of course AV, keen to be first with the news, can now exclusively reveal that the company behind the technological marvel which foiled the looters is non other than the Runcorn, Lancashire-based display specialist Key Total Vision (www.keytv.co.uk).

Its own bespoke designed and manufactured brackets kept the screen firmly secured to the wall, so preventing the looters from running away with their spoils.

Says the company’s commercial director Dermot Butler: “The robust brackets’ special locking points were designed to foil burglaries rather than rioting yobs, but I’m extremely chuffed to see them withstanding the ultimate challenge.”

  1. I can vouch for these brackets and indeed Dermot and the guys at KTV…..from an installation point of view I can also vouch for how simple they are to use….not sure if you remember me from my days at Ladbrokes Dermot but well done!

  2. Excellent post, but in our experience if they cannot steal it they smash it, this is why our LCD enclosure is used in various outdoor applications.

Surley they deserve the AV installation of the year award. The screen withstood a sustained attack from three idiots using their full weight at times and it stayed on the wall.
    Great job.

Well done Dermot & Key Total Vision!

  5. I am the Public Affairs Manager at Ladbrokes and would of course highly recommend Key Total Vision. In addition to providing excellent brackets, they have been very helpful and cooperative since the rioting.

  6. This has nothing to do with Key but a company named ADS TV Ltd who carried out the extra zone project on behalf of Ladbrokes. Think they need to check there facts.

Well, we’ve gone as far as we can on the checks, short of having an invoice shoot-out. Key Total Vision has it at the moment.

  7. Pete is right here,
Avanti now know as ADS installed the Ladbrokes extra roll out all them years ago.

Key TV were not even around then.
CJ install merged into Key TV with Key technology about 4 years ago.

This Ladbrokes extra project was installed by ADS (Avanti)

Actually the installation of the Ladbrokes extra board with TV’s & loom kits installed was done by numerous companies.
Yes Avanti (ADS) did some of these installations but I can remember quite a few shop fitting companies that installed this system.
But Avanti did do all the albos upgrades, soldering & config’s etc etc.

Key TV were not fitting TV’s at this point, they might be now but not when this project was rolled out.
