Christie’s Solaria projectors are scheduled to be the first to roll off the assembly line. Production will begin with the CP2220 and the CP2210 models, with the CP2230 to follow.

The factory will initially feed the Asia Pacific market, freeing up capacity at Christie’s North American plant to increase supply globally.

Ihor Stech, Christie’s vice-president of operations, said Shenzhen offers access to an educated and skilled workforce. The city is China’s third largest, after Shanghai and Beijing, and is a major industrial centre.

Christie plans to increase the staff in Shenzhen and add a second assembly line by the end of the year to double its production output.
