Crestron has launched two touchpanels, one with an embedded PC for internet use, and a handheld WiFi model.
The TPMC-12 is a 12in touchpanel with embedded PC engine for web browsing, streaming audio and video, and viewing and presenting digital multimedia with interactive annotation. It is part of the Isys range of touchpanels and includes built-in Windows Media Player, RealPlayer, Internet Explorer, Adobe Acrobat Reader, as well as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint document viewers. Both Cresnet and Ethernet connectivity are standard on the TPMC-12, and two USB 2.0 ports are also included on the rear panel to support a mouse and keyboard, and external storage devices.
The TPMC-3X handheld WiFi touchpanel delivers omni-directional communication, and features integrated 802.11a/b/g technology. The ‘sleep mode’ enables the TPMC-3X to remain connected to the WiFi network while conserving the dealer-replaceable, rechargeable battery.
The touchscreen displays and controls real-time lighting and temperature levels, menu commands, channel favourites, and an alphanumeric keypad; custom WAV file audio feedback is also supported.
