Smart secures half global market share

Smart Technologies has increased its global share in the interactive whiteboard market, with a 3 per cent rise over Q4 2008. Smart now has 50.2 per cent global share and has sold more interactive whiteboards than all other manufacturers combined, according to Futuresource Consulting.
In the US, they have a 60.1 per cent share, up more than 3 per cent points compared to Q4 2008. In Asia-Pacific, their share was 32.1 per cent, a 12.5 point jump from Q4 2008. They also gained 9.1 per cent in the UK, bringing the company to a total market share of 62.3 per cent here. In the EMEA region, Smart leads the sector with a 39 per cent share.
Smart is also starting to make headway in the US, in Q1 this year 56,000 were sold (up 10 per cent on Q4), of these Smart sold nearly 34,000.
