World Television has launched a live streaming service which can broadcast events in real-time via iPhone, iPad, Blackberry and other hand-held devices. Either directly through the web or by means of an application, which the company designs and develops.
Since its inception, the live mobile streaming service has delivered webcasts for several of World Television’s clients, including Nestlé and Hublot. It was also used by the Swedish Public Relations Association (Sveriges Informationsförening) to webcast the World Public Relations Forum, held in Stockholm in June.
‘It’s not always possible for every country to send a representative to an event like the World PR Forum – travel and distance can often be a significant barrier. Our aim for this year’s conference was to make it as accessible as possible for all our key stakeholders, regardless of location’, said Sylvia Nylin, CEO of the Swedish Public Relations Association.
‘In addition to webcasting the event to improve its accessibility, World Television suggested that an iPhone app would allow us to extend reach further to PR practitioners on the move. We were delighted that this year’s strategy enabled us to reach to an additional 20 countries outside of Sweden – from our European neighbours to PR professionals across the other side of the globe in Australia and New Zealand.’
