Alcons CRMS product debuts at Norwegian Film Institute

The Norsk Film Institute (NFI) in Oslo has installed the first of Alcons’ Cinema Ribbon Monitor Systems (CRMS). The system has been installed within NFI’s Lillebil Room (named after the Norwegian actress Lillebil Ibsen) is a 68 capacity screening facility.

After feedback from consultant Torkell Saetervadet, Jan Olsen from the NFI chose a CRMS configuration of three front channels and 12 surround cabinets, powered and controlled by Alcons ALC power amps, with Sony DFP3000 for analog sound and SDDS playback, a Dolby DA20 processor for SRDigital and a Yamaha DME64 as central digital processor.

One of the Lillebil Room’s main functions being to show previews of films from some of the world’s biggest makers to Norwegian.
