Tandberg has become the first company to transcode Microsoft’s Real Time Video (RTV) to the industry standard H.264.
Tandbergs Unified Communications Gateway will allow Microsoft Office Communicator to experience HD quality when connecting to standards based systems.
The new technology is the result of Tandberg’s partnership with Microsoft.
“The UC Gateway is a critical development for enabling video users to connect in the best HD quality no matter where they are or what network they’re on, helping to bring value to customers and drive further adoption of video conferencing.” said Wainhouse Research senior analyst Brent Kell.
Tandberg will preview the Unified Communications Gateway technology at the Microsoft Tech Ed conference in Berlin from 9-13 November, 2009.
