Christie, global leader in digital cinema projection, and the Saint-Petersburg State University of Film and Television, the oldest University of its kind in Russia, have announced the signing of an Agreement of Association at Cinema Expo. The agreement details the modern educational programmes in the area of digital cinema, made available with the assistance of Christie’s advanced technologies.
Borne out of the association, the Digital Cinema Research Institute (DCRI) has been created for the simultaneous development of educational and research programmes at the University. A Christie CP2000-ZX digital cinema projector has been installed within its dedicated 50-capacity teaching hall used for classes and research activities.
The Saint-Petersburg State University of Film and Television has a history stretching back 90 years – where highly respected specialists in the field of cinema, television and video engineering have been, and continue to be, educated according to the university’s unique educational principles. The university population currently exceeds 6,000.
Aleksandr Peregudov, Pro-rector on the research work of the Saint-Petersburg State University of Film and Television, comments, “Under conditions of a modern and fast-developing market, the University has to provide competitive educational programmes so that our graduates are in a position to take the pick of jobs in modern cinema networks.
