Panasonic helps visitors soak up Heineken Experience

Thirteen Panasonic projectors were chosen for the Heineken Experience which has just opened at the Heineken Brewery in Amsterdam. The re-designed visitor experience is using simulation rides and interactive kiosks to draw its audience into the world of Heineken.

The project was designed and produced by BRC Imagination Arts, with Electrosonic’s UK office working as principal sub-contractor for a-v systems integration.

In an area themed as a traditional Amsterdam Bar visitors view a show called Born in Amsterdam where they learn about the origins and development of Heineken since its founding in 1863. The presentation is given by a barman standing behind the bar. Two 3m wide rear projection screens are built into the set, and the show plays from two synchronized HD video players. It is accompanied by multi-channel sound.

The area called Raised by the World features eight synchronized screens with HD video and sound to show the impact of the Heineken brand in countries all round the world, using footage from many sources.

Four HD players run content through eight Panasonic PT-D5700 projectors in this area. The majority of the original material is, for historical reasons, standard definition, but is up-converted for playback.

The Brew U simulation ride features an HD film on a 3m wide screen accompanied by 5.1 surround sound. The ride places the audience on a platform that shakes and rolls as they undergo the complete brewing process. Three PT-D51000 Panasonic projectors are installed side by side to project the content.
