Jack Morton Worldwide has been appointed to create and produce the European Elections Road Show in the UK. The non-partisan road show will visit 10 cities between 13-29 May and is part of a pan-European awareness campaign for the European parlimentary elections.
The road show will feature a series of five installations, representing some of the main topics over which the European Parliament has influence: Energy, family life, healthcare, jobs and recycling. The installations will be in the shape of doors through which voters will be encouraged to walk in order to find out more about each topic. Each door will contain a mechanism to gauge public ideas and opinion on specific information to each topic.
Each installation will include a 2D map imparting statistics and facts and an interactive 3D element which will allow participants to ‘vote’ and indicate their opinion on specific issues. For example, participants choosing the family life installation will walk through a doorway created by the bars of a cot. The design on each side of the door will illustrate the work life balance issue and participants will share their views through an oversized clocking-in box. The Recycling installation will feature a giant rising wave, colourful and beautiful at a distance but actually created from real rubbish. Participants will share their views by using a can crusher and then throwing the waste into the appropriate recycle bin to indicate their opinion.
The experience will also include an information desk, viewable by the passing public, which will relay a live feed displaying the volume of people walking through each door (demonstrating the level of interest in each topic). The experience will also be supported by ambassadors stationed at each door to encourage interaction and relay information.
