To kick off the range in 2009, Samsung launched several LFD products on show for the first time in the UK at Screen Expo last week. The latest offerings are suited to a number of different industries and business uses which will help Samsung to expand its presence in the public sector, retail, marketing, security, transport and leisure markets.

In addition, Samsung has also announced the launch of eight new projectors, and plans to launch another nine by the end of 2009 as part of Samsung’s global commitment to become one of the top projector brands in the next three years.

Samsung’s display division is looking to follow the success of Samsung’s flat panel TVs and mobile phones in becoming the leading industry player in its field. Samsung’s LCD monitors currently rank number one overall in the latest Gfk data analysis, with a market share of 20 per cent for sales units and 24 per cent for sales value.

‘We are serious in our ambition to become number one for the LFD and projector markets and I feel confident that we can make important steps towards this target in 2009,’ said Dominic Webb, general manager for the Samsung UK display division. ‘We have an exceptional team on board and a product range which is our strongest yet. Both of these, I believe, can help us to make this goal a reality.’
