UHB runs two hospitals, the Queen Elizabeth and Selly Oak, located 1.5 miles apart in south Birmingham, so effective internal and visitor communication can be difficult. On a typical day more than 10,000 staff, patients and visitors will be in the hospitals at some time.

The Connectivision messaging software allows communications to reach staff, patients and visitors quickly using the realtime push communications channel, called Invision by UHB. It provides timely guaranteed message accuracy and consistency that is authorised, scheduled and targeted for different audiences, at different times in specific locations.

Connectvision screensaver and multimedia communications will be used to supplement UHB’s internal and visitor communications. Campaigns will include energy saving messages, hospital news and health & safety alerts.

The 42in LCD screens will feature, for example, team briefing news, hospital news, restaurant menus, health & safety alerts, staff training and workshop course bulletins, local transport and weather information, national news feeds and security alerts.
