XL Video has announced a new division called XL Events, which has been created by consolidating the corporate division of XL Video and a-v company Show Support. Located in both Bromsgrove and Hemel Hempstead the operation will be headed up by Rich Rowley.
XL Events has been established to offer sound, lighting and a-v technology drawing on the experience, resources and project management of the XL Video group of companies in the UK and Europe.
The XL Group has already invested in excess of half a million pounds in the new company, and predicts to do at least the same again over the next 12 months.
XL Events has access to in-house equipment including the latest L-Acoustics dVDOSC, KIVA and d&b Line Array loudspeaker systems with analogue / digital control from Soundcraft, Yamaha and Midas plus a selection of Shure, Sennheiser radio systems. Lighting stock consists of conventional, digital and LED lighting. XL Events has invested in Martin Professional moving lights, the Catalyst DL series, along with Philips SSL ColorBlasts and ChromaQ ColorBlock LED, with WholeHog, MA Lighting or Avolites for control.
XL Events also has access to XL Videos stock of broadcast quality cameras, HD PPUs and LED screens for all applications. There are also a host of other alternatives at their disposal including F-LED11, Spider 40, MiStrip, MiTrix, Stealth and customisations as required.
The fleet of projectors includes machines from Christie, Barco and Digital Projection, and the constantly developing world of media servers and show control includes, Catalyst, Hippotizer, D3, Pandora’s Box, and Folsom Encore fleets.
XL Events will also offer it’s clients specialist set and content pre-visualisation in 2 or 3D and content creation – either stand-alone or integrated in a package – through its two in-house HD Creation Studios with the latest offline hardware, software and facilities all manned by in-house staff.
Events already include 5,500 seated delegates at the NEC, a European roadshow, televised spectaculars and a series of confidential board-room briefings for example.
Current and upcoming XL Events work includes shows for Price Waterhouse Coopers at the new Atlantis Hotel Dubai, the MPH08 Show in the UK and Ireland and audio and video for a CBeebies production in December/January for BBC Worldwide.
