Midwich increases share

Futuresource Consulting (formerly known as DTC) has announced that distributor Midwich has attained a 42 per cent share of the UK projector market, and increased its share of the XGA and WXGA projector markets to 45 and 61 per cent respectively.
Midwich has increased its annual projector sales by 70 per cent year-on-year, winning an additional 14 per cent share of the market from its competitors in the process.
The distributor has been successful in mid-range and high-end projector categories, reporting a 240 per cent increase in sales. Figures released by Futuresource show that Midwich now commands a 55 per cent share of the market for 2500-5000 lumens projectors, more than double the figure it recorded last year.
Commenting on its performance, Darren Lewitt, divisional director at Midwich, said: ‘Our long-term strategy is to focus on quality brands and bring new solutions to the channel first. This commitment is now paying off for our vendor and reseller partners. We have placed our emphasis firmly on brands and solutions that deliver functional benefits to the end user at higher retained margin levels for our resellers. If the IT distributors want to focus on buying market share in the SVGA market where profit is already at a premium then good luck to them.’
