Metropolis AV & FX has refurbished the a-v systems at the Sports Caf in London’s Haymarket.
Metropolis re-cabled the video network with broadcast quality cable, with composite signals replacing the old RF signals. This is distributed throughout the building via 10 distribution amplifiers, fed from Kramer VS162 video matrix units linked to Alcorn McBride 1064 video controllers. Metropolis installed a customised control panel for source selection.
Old TV displays were changed with 33 Panasonic TX28 and TX32 widescreen televisions. A Panasonic TH42 PW6 plasma screen and two Sanyo PLC SL15 video projectors, with protective anti-smoke housings, were also installed.
The audio system was beefed up by adding three new Bose 1800V pro amplifiers to the existing five, as well as six more Bose Panaray loudspeakers. All the audio sources are routed via a Soundcraft Spirit Live 4×2 console to a new Allen & Heath IDR8 DSP.
