Editor’s Comment: The debate over digital signage

Holiday company Thomson has seen 2-3x sales increases as a result of using digital poster displays in 100 of its stores.

Thomson ran two solus campaigns, only shown on the Remote Media digital poster network, in order to research the effectiveness of the medium.

It found that February sales of ski holidays rose to 132 per cent (norm 100) in the stores using the displays. A second campaign, for trips to Dubai, scored 227 per cent on bookings during the promotional period and recorded a 365 per cent score for holiday price.

This analysis provies the effectiveness of our digital poster network and has been instrumental in securing advertising from third parties, said Thomson marketing manager Doug Glenwright. We are considering extending the network to additional stores.
