Maestro MXP

Tandberg is building a new range of products based on a system that it is calling MXP.

The MXP technology, as Tandberg calls it, delivers CD-quality sound, is SIP-ready to take advantage of IP applications, offers H.264 support, has ‘embedded multipoint’ capabilities, and a digital video display interface.

Videoconferencing products using the system include a new large multipoint control unit as well as Maestro, which is intended for use with large screen displays, and the 3000 MXP codec.

Other MXP-based launches include a rack mount Gatekeeper product for IP users, which includes a gateway, MCUs and endpoints; new 6000 MXP codecs for systems integrators; and an MXP-supporting version of the Tandberg TMS management system.

The Codec 6000 MXP is an interoperable rack-mount appliance that provides CD-quality digital audio, DVI input and output and an industry standard S/PDIF interface. The codec incorporates the MPEG4 AAC-LD standard ratified by the International Telecommunication Union, enabling CD-quality sound with low delay. The hardware also provides standardised and secure remote control over IP as well as an improved application program interface and video routing.
