Panasonic has launched a projector with both SD memory card and wireless capabilities.

The combination of technologies allows presenters to upload material to the projector, store it and, if necessary, distribute it to other users.

The two slots are built in to Panasonic’s new XGA-native PT-L730NT unit, flagship model of a new portable range. The other models, the XGA PT-L720E and SVGA PT-L520E, all weigh in at the 4Kg mark and produce 2,000-2,200 ANSI lumens according to spec.

Putting images on the memory card while still operating under wireless control from a laptop means that high-resolution images can be called up faster that using IEEE802.11b alone. The Panasonic Wireless Manager software is able to send the ‘next slide’ to the projector in advance of it being needed, as well as carrying out ‘normal’ wireless processes such as capturing and transmitting screens, windows and document areas from the laptop. Other wireless-enabled users in the same room can also upload and download slides to/from the projector.

Panasonic’s latest wireless software also allows laptop users to take control of the projector via their Internet browser. www.panasonic.co.uk/projectors
